Position: Seasonal Full-time Resort Manager/Host (required to live on-site while on shift).
We are looking for a couple or team of 2 people, who will reside in one RV, for the position of Resort Manager/Host. Ideal position for a semi-retired couple, who loves the resort/camping lifestyle and wishes to supplement their income. Due to the requirement for on-site residency, we will only offer the position to a team of 2 people.
Location: North Side of Lac Des Roches, on Highway 24: 35 kms West of Little Fort on Hwy 24 or 62 kms East of the Hwy 97 junction at 93 Mile.
Term and Hours:
- Term commences May 15th and runs until Sept 15th (123 days)
- Six days per week with every Wednesday off (107 working days over Term)
- Store/Reception must be attended 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (closed periodically for housekeeping)
Compensation:
- This is a contract position. You will be an independent contractor, not an employee.
- $250/day ($26,750/term) for a couple or team of 2 people
- Accommodation provided while on-site and on shift (modern and spacious RV with full hook-ups)
Requirements/skills:
- Valid BC Driver’s License (min. class 5) required
- Must submit to a financial and criminal background check required
- Minimum High school graduation (GED) or equivalent education required
- Strong public relations and guest service skills required
- Strong computer knowledge, use of MS Office and ability to email effectively required
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume environment required
- Ability to defuse confrontational situations in an effective manner required
- Resourceful and able to work independently in remote location required
- Must be energetic and physically fit required
- General and routine maintenance experience an asset
- Housekeeping and caretaking experience an asset
- Excellent organization and work planning skills an asset
- Cash handling experience in retail environment an asset
Duties:
- Cleaning and maintaining campsites, day use areas, and all public areas of the property including garbage and recycling pickup and disposal.
- Basic landscaping duties including raking, mowing lawns, seeding, and trimming of branches, etc.
- Maintenance of central washroom facilities including sweeping, cleaning, sanitization and re-stocking supplies
- Maintenance of Cabins and RV’s including sweeping, cleaning, sanitization and re-stocking supplies
- Reception/store duties including reservations administration, checking in guests, revenue collection, watercraft rentals, daily cash-out sheets, sale of firewood, sale of ice
- Ensure campground areas are regularly observed and guests are abiding by the campground usage guidelines and enforcing quiet hours
